Gifts of appreciated securities or mutual funds to the UMKC Foundation can provide significant support for an area of your designation at the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
Gifts of securities may be used to support the annual fund, establish an endowment, provide unrestricted support or other learning opportunities and initiatives.
A gift of appreciated securities may qualify for a charitable tax deduction and may help to avoid long-term capital gains tax on the appreciated value. Stocks or bonds held for a year or longer that have increased in value may qualify for a deduction similar to the value of the gift. Consider transferring your securities directly to UMKC Foundation.
