Priorities for the School of Humanities and Social Sciences are:
- To fund internships for students in the social sciences. We are delighted to report that we have received a $5 million grant from the Mellon Foundation to support internship opportunities for humanities students and are committed to ensuring that students in the social sciences have access to similar support.
- To renovate the UMKC Art Gallery and Fine Arts Building.
- To provide opportunities for students to participate in high-impact experiential learning, such as through study abroad, community engaged research, and career exploration and development.
- To support crucial scholarships to the 85 percent of School of Humanities and Social Sciences students who receive some form of financial aid.
