With 16,000+ students from all 50 states and more than 85 countries, the UMKC community is enriched by their diverse perspectives. Sometimes these students need extra support on their way to discovering and creating their perfect career.

You can contribute to a specific area of need that will directly help students, including:

Student Emergency Fund

The Student Emergency Fund was launched in March 2020 to support student expenses directly related to the disruption of their education due to the COVID-19 health and economic crisis. To date, we have raised over $150,000 to help UMKC students in need, but we have many more students who are applying daily for financial assistance.

Divine Gardens

The Divine Gardens on the UMKC Volker campus will be designed to honor and recognize the nine black Greek organizations, known as the Divine Nine. These gardens will represent those Greek organization’s that have a presence on the UMKC campus, symbolically and physically. The Divine Gardens will serve as a gathering place for alumni and current students to come together, celebrate, meet, and reflect. The Divine Gardens fund will assist in purchasing benches, plants and other memorial items for the Gardens.

Scholarships

Scholarships are essential to sustaining the dynamic mix of students that contributes to the best possible learning environment for our campus community. Scholarships provide greater opportunities for talented students who cannot afford the full cost to attend UMKC. Your gift will enable UMKC to continue educating engaged local and global citizens and leaders.

Travel Stipends/Study Abroad Funding

Students find coursework in a foreign country stimulating and their encounters outside the classroom educational and exciting. Students also return to UMKC with a broader, deeper understanding both of another country and of their own cultural background. UMKC offers hundreds of programs in more than 60 countries that are consistently in need of donor funding. In addition, travel stipends allow students to benefit from attending educational workshops, conferences and competitions.
